Supper Club Crochet/Quilting Groups Women's Group Out Reach Ministry's next gathering is Sunday, Sept. 7th at 9:00 a.m. in between services. Youth Evangelism Award nominations are now being accepted through Sunday, October 5. Pick up a nomination form in the Narthex and give the completed forms to Jody Davis or Yvonne Bates. Out Reach will vote on the nominations at their October gathering. The awards will be given out on Sunday, November 16. For information contact Jody or Yvonne. Doggie Day at Elms Haven is back. Volunteer pooches and their two-legged companions will meet at Elms Haven on Saturday, September 6th at 9:00 a.m. For more information contact Joni Columbia. COFU is looking for adult mentors. 12-15 hours of training is provided along with a connection with a Learning Partner. Call Todd at 303-452-2727. COFU has volunteer opportunities available as Intake personnel as well as other volunteer positions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays in 3 hours shifts, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. or a six hour shift from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call Jim at 303-452-2727 for more details or to volunteer. Military Care Packages - We are receiving letters back from the military personnel that received our packages. St. John's sent 7 mailings of 25 boxes for a total of 175 boxes. Thank you to everyone who has donated the stuff to put in the boxes as well as those who have donated money to mail the boxes. If you would like to take on the responsibility of one of the military boxes (filling it and making sure it gets mailed once a month) contact Yvonne Bates. Albertson's fundraising - Charlene Loukota now has the keychain cards. St. John's will get 1% of any purchase at Albertson's. Just have the card scanned. Fellowship Hour is a great way to meet St. John's members and guests. A sign-up sheet is located n the hallway on the bulletin board. If you want to help with a Fellowship Hour but would like help contact Charlene Loukota. Stop cutting soup labels!! We are sending the last of the soup labels to the Navaho Lutheran Mission in November. Please bring in whatever you have collected and place them in the basket over the coat rack. Start cutting the bar codes from the same products and we will send them also. Because they are smaller they are easier and cheaper to ship. Bar codes are accepted from Campbell's, Pepperidge Farms, Prego, Mrs. Paul's Franco-American, Swanson, Marie's Dressings, Open Pit BBQ Sauce, V-8, Sanwa Raman Pride Soups and Early California Olives.
